Interchange 55:
Community views sought

Building Partnerships has submitted a planning application for the development of Interchange 55. The application is part outline, to establish the principle of the employment area with access to the site submitted in full.

The site is allocated for development within Babergh Council’s Local Plan 2011-2031, Core Strategy & Policies (Policy CS7) and envisages a potential range of uses being delivered, including offices, light industrial, general industrial, storage and distribution. Occupiers are likely to concentrate around distribution and storage.

Access will be from the Tesco roundabout (A1214) with the traffic generated from the scheme already included on the network as part of the Wolsey Grange planning permission. The layout provides a possible future link to Thompson & Morgan that could re-route all their traffic through the scheme instead of using Poplar Lane.

A public consultation was held online from 1 July to 31 July 2021 due to the COVID 19 restrictions.

The website was open for your consultation comments between the above dates.

Responses we received were taken into consideration by the project team before the proposals were finalised. The data was not used by Building Partnerships/GP Planning for any other purpose other than in relation to the planning application(s). We will contact you if you have asked to be kept informed.
